TIWA : Fall - BEAST: Basic Engine and Suppression Tactics (Bastrop 2026)

Full Description: This course will introduce students to basic wildland engine suppression tactics in both the rural and wildland urban interface settings. Students will also be introduced to basic engine terminology, structure triage, hose operations, and foam and water use practices to optimize the water available. The course consists of 8 hours of classroom studies and 8 hours of field work.

Directions to Location: When turning into Gate 5 from FM 2336, proceed through the gate to the marked parking areas. Check-In will have signage outside and be in the first portable building along the left side of the roadway into camp.

Class times: 0800-1700 every day (unless otherwise specified by the instructor)

Please report to ICP/Check-In before your first class begins. Check-In opens at 0630 each day. Students only need to check in once, even when registered for more than one class.
