S-212 Wildland Fire Chain Saws
Full Description
This course provides an introduction to the function, maintenance, and use of internal combustion engine powered chain saws, and their tactical wildland fire application. Field exercises support entry level training for firefighters with little or no previous experience operating a chain saw, providing hands-on cutting experience in surroundings similar to fire line situations. This class is targeted to those desiring to be qualified as firefighter type 1 (FFT1), incident commander type 5 (ICT5), or felling boss (FELB).

Successful completion of S-130/S-190, Basic Firefighter Training/Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior

Directions to Location
When turning into Gate 5 from FM 2336, proceed through the gate to the marked parking areas. Check-In will have signage outside and be in the first portable building along the left side of the roadway into camp.

Class times:  0800-1700 every day (unless otherwise specified by the instructor)

Please report to Check-In before your first class begins.  Check-In opens at 0630 each day.  Students need only check in once, even when registered for more than one class.
